Baltimore County Police Records

The Baltimore County Police Department handles people search requests through its Information and Records Management Unit. The main office is at 700 East Joppa Road in Towson. Call 410-887-2214 for records or 410-887-2390 for recorded information. You need to fill out Form 117, the Police Report Request Form. The form asks for your full name, address, phone number, email, date of the incident, type of incident, location, names of people involved, and report number if you have it.

The main way to submit a request in Baltimore County is by mail. Send a completed Form 117 with a check or money order for $15 and a self-addressed stamped envelope to Baltimore County Police Department, Information and Records Management Unit, 700 East Joppa Road, Towson, Maryland 21286-5501. You can also go in person during hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays. Bring a valid photo ID. Payment methods include personal checks, money orders, or cash for in-person visits. Processing takes about two weeks. Victims of crime get free copies of their reports.

Under General Provisions Article §4-315, accident reports have a 60-day privacy window. During that time, only involved parties and their representatives can access the report.

Note: Baltimore County police reports cost $15 each, which is higher than some other Maryland counties, but victims of crime pay no fee for their own reports.
