Harford County Sheriff Records
The Harford County Sheriff's Office handles people search records requests. The office is at 45 South Main Street in Bel Air. The non-emergency number is 410-838-6600. Harford County upgraded to GovQuest 2.0 in August 2025. Users must create a new account even if they had one before. There is no charge to set up an account. The GovQuest form asks for a description of the records you need, the names of people involved, the date and location of the incident, and the case or report number if you have it.
Reports submitted through GovQuest cost $10 per item. Mail or in-person submissions cost $15 per item. Search time after the first two free hours costs $35 per hour. Mailed copies add $0.25 per page. Video on CD, DVD, or thumb drive adds $20. Credit card processing has a $3 fee per request. Misconduct records searches cost between $64.75 and $99.07 per hour, which is significantly higher than standard search fees in Harford County.
For standard crash reports, Harford County uses CrashDocs at crashdocs.org. You need the report number, your last name, and the date of the accident. Reports are available 5 to 10 business days after the crash. The standard PIA response time is 30 days, with an acknowledgment within 10 working days.
