Under Maryland Rules Title 16, Chapter 900, most court records in Charles County are open to the public. Sealed, shielded, and expunged records do not appear. You need to fill out Public Records Request Form #331. The form asks for your name, phone number, email, organization if applicable, mailing address, and the type of report you want. It also asks for the police report or event number, the officer's name and ID, the location of the incident, and the date and time.

Fees in Charles County are lower than many other Maryland jurisdictions. Police reports and motor vehicle crash reports cost $8 for the first 10 pages. Additional pages after 10 cost $0.50 each. Photos on CD cost $15 per CD. Video or audio recordings cost $65 per DVD. Research time after the first two free hours costs $30 per hour.
